Luca Viișoreanu and the Real Racing team are ready for the Vallelunga round

This weekend, Luca Viișoreanu will start in the second round of the Italian Formula 4 Championship scheduled on the Vallelunga circuit, the place where the Real Racing driver achieved his first podium in the rookies’ standings in the Italian single-seater competition last year.

After Luca Viișoreanu’s unfortunate debut in the new Formula 4 Italia season on the Misano circuit, this weekend will see the Vallelunga stage, a race track where the Real Racing driver achieved his first podium in the rookie standings in 2024.

“The beginning of the year was like a roller coaster for me. There was the victory at the Red Bull Ring in Formula 4 CEZ, followed by the Misano race, the first in Formula 4 Italia. Here, after a fairly good performance in qualifying, in both races I was involved, through no fault of my own, in some collisions that influenced the final result and unfortunately because of this I was unable to reach Sunday’s final. However, I am optimistic and I hope that things will go much better here at Vallelunga,” said Luca Viișoreanu, the Real Racing team driver.

The Vallelunga round, the second round of the Formula 4 Italia, will take place on the weekend of May 23-25 at the Autodromo Piero Taruffi circuit, and 40 drivers from 27 countries competing for 12 teams will be at the start.

Luca Viișoreanu has been preparing intensively for this round, both on the circuit and in the simulator, in an attempt to start this round with an optimal set-up. “One of the challenges was to extract as much information from the car as possible to pass on to the engineers in order to improve the car’s performance together. I had a test session on the track last week, but I also completed over 500 laps in the simulator to make sure I understand the circuit, the lines and the car’s behavior so that everything is as good as possible when the race weekend begins,” continued Luca Viișoreanu.

Given the large number of entries, the drivers will be divided into two series (Series 1 and Series 2) from the free practice sessions. The two groups will also be kept in the qualifications, and depending on the results of this session, the drivers will then be divided into three groups: A, B and C.

After the qualifications, 3 races are scheduled, in the first the drivers from groups B and C will compete, in the second the drivers from groups A and B, and in the third race the drivers from groups A and C. The best 36 drivers, following the combined results, will compete in the Grand Final. Of course, the drivers will collect points in all the races scheduled this weekend.

“The 2025 season is an extremely competitive one and I come to Vallelunga with the memory of my first podium in the rookie category. I set out to be better from one session to the next and I just hope I don’t have as much bad luck as in Misano”, added Luca Viișoreanu.

The first outing on the circuit for Luca Viișoreanu and the Real Racing team will be on Friday, May 23, at 09:30 (Romanian time) in the first free practice session. Also on Friday, at 14:10, the second free practice session is scheduled, and qualifying will start at 19:10. The first race at Vallelunga, with drivers from groups B and C, will take place on Saturday, May 24, at 13:10, followed by the second race, with drivers from groups A and B, at 19:00. The last race, with the drivers from groups A and C, will take place on Sunday, May 25, at 10:00, and the Grand Final, with the best 36 drivers, will start at 16:30. Each race lasts 25 minutes + 1 lap.

Luca Viișoreanu is supported this Formula 4 season by his partners: Institutul Sânului, Euronautica International and Arhiva Electronica de Garanții Reale Mobiliare – AEGRM.
