Luca Viișoreanu to Race in Eurocup-3 this year with TC Racing

Luca Viișoreanu continues his single-seater racing career and will compete in the 2026 Eurocup-3 Championship, an intermediate series between Formula 4 and Formula 3, with TC Racing, the team founded by Thibaut Courtois, Professional footballer.

After starting his career in karting and then moving into Formula 4, taking part in the F4 Italian Championship, Luca Viișoreanu now makes the step up to Eurocup-3, a category positioned between Formula 4 and Formula 3, where he will race with TC Racing, Thibaut Courtois’ racing team.

“After two seasons with strong results in Formula 4, I feel I’ve built a solid foundation and that I’m ready to take the next step in my career into Eurocup-3 with TC Racing. As the final step before Formula 3, this is a very important moment in my sporting journey. In Eurocup-3 the level of competition increases significantly, and everything becomes much more demanding in every way. That’s exactly why this season is essential,  it’s the year when I need to prepare as well as possible, so that when I reach Formula 3, I’ll be at the required level,” said Luca Viișoreanu.

TC Racing was founded in 2023 by Thibaut Courtois, professional footballer at LaLiga (Spain), and the team is involved in karting, Formula 4, and, starting with this season, also fields a team in Eurocup-3. The organization also operates an esports division, TC Esports, which leverages sim racing as a key tool for driver development. There is a close connection between the sim racing program and the main TC Racing team: drivers benefit from targeted training on the team’s own simulators, helping them refine their skills, understand race strategy, and gain experience that directly translates to performance in real-world single-seaters.

“Luca brings valuable experience from his time in Italian Formula 4. We believe he has the potential and mindset needed to tackle a demanding Eurocup 3 season and fit perfectly into the project we are building for 2026”, said Thibaut Courtois, owner of TC Racing.

The single-seater Luca Viișoreanu will race this season is based on the new Dallara 326 chassis, powered by a 1.6-litre turbo Toyota TGE33 engine producing 275 hp, prepared by tuner TOM’S, a long-time Toyota partner in top international championships. The car’s top speed is 270 km/h.

“TC Racing is the team with which I feel I can take this important step in my career. I’m convinced this is the right environment for me to continue to grow and develop as a driver in a year that is very important for my future. At the same time, I’m truly excited to be part of this project and to work with Thibaut Courtois and the people around him, a project built seriously, with clear objectives and a lot of ambition,” added Luca Viișoreanu.

The 2026 Eurocup-3 season features eight rounds and will begin in the first weekend of May. Until then, Luca Viișoreanu will also compete in the Eurocup-3 Spanish Winter Championship. Now in its second season, this series has three rounds, one in Portugal (Portimao) and two in Spain (Jarama and Motorland), offering drivers the perfect opportunity to prepare for the new season.

“I’m starting the 2026 season with a lot of confidence and I’m extremely motivated to achieve my goals. I’m sure that together with TC Racing we will have a competitive season with strong results. This is a key year for me, which I’m approaching with maximum seriousness, and I’m looking forward to it with great enthusiasm,” Luca Viișoreanu also said.
